Chaplain Thomas Fleischmann was installed in June 1997 to serve as chaplain to Sheboygan County Health Care Centers with a Word and Sacrament ministry. He conducts weekly worship services, Bible study classes and one-on-one counseling, visitations and annual VBS programs. For the private nursing homes he coordinates worship services, communes residents when regular pastoral care is unavailable and conducts funerals. A new partnership agreement was established in 2004 between the District and the Sheboygan chaplaincy committee in which by early 2007 the Sheboygan area congregations will provide the majority of the annual financial support for this position. The District encourages direct gifts to Sheboygan chaplaincy.
